*NIX TIP: Change gnome-terminal default size

I found it very efficient and decided to share it with you. I know it’s not that company related but helped me a lot in my everyday work as I found myself changing the terminal size each time I opened it.
Gnome terminal uses termcap library to for it’s default settings. You can modify the file /usr/share/vte/termcap/xterm to the setting which you want.
Just open the file as root with your text editor. In my case it will be vim:

*NIX TIP: exim4 remove frozen mail

It happens often on large scale environment that the mail send by some application get frozen due to configuration issue. There is a way to clean the mail queue from those messages. First of all check the mail queue with a command:
/var/spool/mqueue is empty
Total requests: 0
If it doesn’t show any output there is no frozen mails but if there are we can remove them once we know that they are not needed by customer. To delete just certain mail execute:

COMPANY: New ISP + Datacenter = new quality

Some of you might notice the unexpected outage we had yesterday. It was out ISP again failing us. We decided to move all of the web services outside that Data center. Fortunately we thought about it before so another failure just pushed us towards. From now on all the web services are hosted in new data center with totally different provider. We have been guaranteed of 99.9% coverage window of Internet Connection and Power supply. Hopefully toughed by previous provider we hope outages not to happened again. At least not those unplanned ones.
